Belinda Drabble

I have always had a creative streak, even though my first degree was in Maths and Computer Science. When my two little birds had flown the coop and gone to school in England, I undertook a post-graduate diploma in law.

I have been accompanying my husband to far flung places in the world for over 20 years and learned new creative skills as I went along, patchwork and quilting from American ladies in Oslo, upholstery in Paris and London. When we moved to Holland I started a rigorous four year course in silver and goldsmithing in the silver capital of The Netherlands, Schoonhoven. In the meantime, I did a short course on hat making and through the hat designer landed in the country of many a woman’s dreams…..bagland.

Having moved to Canada, my workshop is now in the southwest of the vibrant city of Calgary. I make each bag myself in my workshop, making patterns, sourcing the leather, zips, rings, rivets and lining myself. I love bright colours and cannot resist using them in my bags, even a very tame black bag can give you a surprise when you open it.
